Looks like AWOL continues to gain traction in my hometown at least. And as the letters make clear, the twin themes of chickenhawkism and AWOL converge and reinforce one another, especially when contrasted with Kerry's record.

Kerry: Fought, opposed war, risked life so others wouldn't die.
Bush: Fled, supported war, happy to let others die.

I believe the marketing types call that "synergy."

Maybe the Republicans were right after all: it really all does come down to character.
