Bush AWOL: The issue is not Vietnam credentials...
... as the SCLM is framing it. The issue is: (1) Why did Bush blow off his medical exam, which grounded him, after the taxpayers spent a million dollars training him? Was it because he would have had to take a drug test? and (2) what were the grounds for his discharge? NOTE: We don't seem to have the paperwork for that, despite WhiteWash House claims to have released "all" documents.
It really is a question of character.... At the very best, the entire episode shows Bush acting with the sense of privilege and impunity that befits the scion of a dynasty—but ill befits a citizen of a democracy where all are equal before the rule of law.
